SEPA Direct Debit is a secure bank-to-bank payment method available in participating European countries.
Unlike card payments, SEPA Direct Debit payments are not processed instantly. After you authorize the payment, Stripe payments usually take 6 business days to process. In some cases, processing may take up to 10 calendar days to collect the funds and confirm the payment.
During this time, your payment may appear as Processing or Pending.
Your subscription or order will be activated automatically once Stripe confirms the payment and the payment status changes to Succeeded.
How does the payment process work?
Every SEPA Direct Debit payment follows the same process before your subscription becomes active.
Purchase → Payment Processing → Your bank withdraws the funds → Stripe receives confirmation → Payment Status: Succeeded → Subscription Activated
Important: Your subscription is activated only after Stripe confirms that your payment has successfully settled.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why isn't my subscription active even though my bank charged me?
This is normal. After your bank withdraws the funds, the payment still needs to complete settlement before Stripe can confirm it. Your subscription activates automatically once the payment status changes to Succeeded.
2. Why did my SEPA Direct Debit payment take up to 10 days to complete?
SEPA Direct Debit payments typically complete within 6 business days. However, weekends, public holidays, and bank processing times can extend the total processing time up to 10 calendar days.
3. Can Streamline speed up the payment process?
No. SEPA Direct Debit payments are processed by your bank, the SEPA banking network, and Stripe. Streamline cannot accelerate or manually approve the payment.
4. Can I cancel a SEPA Direct Debit payment?
Generally, no. Once the payment enters the banking network, it cannot be canceled through Streamline. If you need to stop a payment, contact your bank as soon as possible.
5. What should I do if my payment is still processing?
If your payment is still Processing more than 10 business days after the expected debit date, contact Streamline Support and include:
Your invoice number
The email address associated with your Streamline account
A screenshot of the payment status (if available)
6. Can I use another payment method instead?
Yes. If you need immediate access, you can choose another available payment method, such as a credit or debit card, if it is offered during checkout or on your invoice.
