Note: The Outline Stroke feature has been renamed to Flatten. While the name has changed, the functionality remains the same. It converts adjustable strokes into fixed vector objects, similar to Figma's Outline Stroke feature.
Most of Streamline’s line icons are adjustable, which means you can make them thinner or thicker in ''Stroke Width'’ feature or your software of choice depending on your needs.
But if you want to set up a specific stroke width and keep it fixed and flattened, you can do that with the “Flatten” feature, which basically turns strokes into objects, just like Figma’s “Outline Stroke” feature.
Where to find it
The Flatten toggle is located in the icon editor toolbar, next to the Box setting.
How it works
Flatten: Off – The icon remains stroke-based, allowing you to continue adjusting the stroke width.
Flatten: On – The strokes are converted into vector objects (filled paths).
What happens when you resize an icon?
Flatten Off: The icon remains stroke-based, so you can continue adjusting the stroke width after resizing.
Flatten On: The icon scales as a vector object while preserving the appearance of the stroke width that was applied when it was flattened.
Why use Flatten?
Use Flatten when you want to:
Lock in a specific stroke width.
Export icons as filled vector shapes.
Ensure consistent rendering across different design tools.
